Choose the Right Pool Chlorine Tablets
Compare 1-inch and 3-inch chlorine tablets and cal-hypo tablet options for pool sanitation. Before choosing a product, check the active ingredient, tablet size and the dispensing method approved on its label. Similar-looking tablets are not necessarily interchangeable.
Local purchase and pickup only; chlorine tablets are not shipped. Check individual listings for stock and local fulfillment options in Fresno and Clovis.
1-Inch and 3-Inch Tablet Options
Poolife 1-inch Cleaning Tablets are one smaller-tablet option. Poolife MPT Extra 3-inch Chlorinating Tablets are a larger-tablet option. Match the exact product to the approved equipment rather than choosing only by tablet size or bucket weight.
Stabilized Trichlor vs. Cal-Hypo Tablets
Trichlor tablets are stabilized chlorine products that add cyanuric acid as they dissolve. Monitor stabilizer along with sanitizer and water balance.
Calcium hypochlorite tablets, such as Poolife NST Prime, use different chlorine chemistry and do not add cyanuric acid. NST Prime is not a substitute to load into a trichlor feeder. Use only application methods and equipment approved for the exact cal-hypo product.
Never mix chlorine types or add a different chlorine product to equipment containing incompatible residue. Do not mix chlorine with other chemicals or acids.
Match the Tablet to Its Feeder
Compare automatic pool chlorinators and floating chlorine dispensers only after checking the approved chemistry and tablet size. A standard trichlor feeder or floater must not be assumed compatible with cal-hypo tablets.
Skimmer application is product-specific, not a rule for every tablet. Use that method only when the exact chemical label and equipment instructions permit it. Never place tablets directly on pool surfaces.
Use Water Tests to Guide Dosing
There is no single tablet count or weekly dose suitable for every pool. Follow the exact product label and equipment instructions, and adjust using current water-test results. Browse water-testing supplies and pool water balancers for the rest of your water-care routine.
Chlorine Tablet FAQ
Are all chlorine tablets the same?
No. Size, active ingredient, stabilizer content and approved dispensing methods vary.
Can cal-hypo tablets go in my existing trichlor feeder?
No. Do not put cal-hypo tablets in a trichlor feeder, even when it appears empty. Follow the cal-hypo product's specific application instructions.
Do smaller tablets automatically work in hot tubs?
No. Tablet size does not establish spa suitability. Stabilized chlorine tablets are not a general hot-tub recommendation; use a sanitizer appropriate for the spa and follow its instructions.
Are tablets a replacement for shock treatment?
No. Ongoing tablet sanitation and pool shock treatments serve different purposes. Select and apply each according to its label and the water condition.
Can I have tablets shipped?
No. Benchmark's chlorine tablets are local-only. Check the listing for local availability before ordering or visiting.
